ICTP Asian Network School and Workshop on Complex Condensed Matter Systems

This activity is the first annual School and Workshop of the Asian Network on Condensed Matter and Complex Systems, a newly established cooperation project for the research engagement between ICTP-CMSP, APCTP-POSTECH, IBS-PCS Daejeon, IOP-VAST (Vietnam), SUT (Thailand) and University of the Philippines Diliman. This initiative falls under the APCTP-ICTP Memorandum of Understanding for mutual cooperation signed in 2007. It will further the engagement of the APCTP with countries in South-East Asia.

The aim of this Network School and Workshop, to be organized in alternate years in Vietnam and Thailand, is to leverage the combined expertise of the advanced network nodes in Italy (ICTP) and Korea (APCTP, IBS-PCS) to foster the growth of advanced studies in theoretical physics in the regional developing countries of South East Asia. A particular focus is to help to train postgraduate students, postdocs and early career researchers from Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines and other nearby regional countries. This activity is open to participants from all APCTP Member Countries and ICTP-OEA regional countries on UNESCO list.
